Preparing steamed brown rice can take up to 45 minutes due to their hard outer casing called bran. However, soaking the rice before steaming can reduce this time by more than half.
Soaking helps soften brown rice's hard bran layer, so part of the cooking process is done before you start heating it. Plus, this hack is also super easy to follow.
Add the rice to an airtight container, cover it with twice as much water, refrigerate it overnight, then cook it normally the next day. It should
be ready in 20 to 30 minutes.
