6. Geisha Fancy White

This crab meat comes from blue swimming crabs and contains water, sugar, salt, citric acid, and other preservatives. It is only $3.29 per 6 ounces.
The meat is in very small pieces and almost looks like a paste, making the texture mushy. In addition, the flavor was very mild and rather unpleasant.

5. Bumble Bee White

This crab meat has the same ingredients as Geisha. It had a mild flavor with no unpleasant notes, and the texture was a bit wet and mushy.
This product was the most widely available at stores and only cost $2.94 a can. With the mild flavor, it’s best for recipes where the taste and the texture isn't center stage.

4. Crown Prince Fancy White

This product contains only lump white crab meat, water, salt, and citric acid. The meat was moist with a mild flavor and fishy undertones.
The meat had a better texture than the previous two brands and lacked additional preservatives besides citric acid, but the taste was neutral at best and it ran nearly $10 a can.
