It can be difficult to determine if your oil has hit the perfect frying temperature without a thermometer, but thankfully, Rachael Ray is here to the rescue with an easy trick.
Wooden spoons of different sizes on a kitchen towel
In a video shared on the celebrity chef's Facebook page, she suggests placing the wooden handle of a spoon, spatula, or any other utensil into the oil to check if it’s ready to go.

If there are plenty of bubbles forming around the wood that come to the surface in a rapid (but not splashing) motion, it means your oil is at the ideal temperature for frying.
