The tartly sweet fruit of a pineapple is encased by a prickly, tough outer layer that takes gusto to cut through. This is why some grocery stores have pineapple slicing machines.
To use a pineapple slicing machine, all you have to do is place a pineapple inside the machine's hatch as well as a bucket right underneath. Then, press the start button and watch.
While the machines are convenient, they do have drawbacks. For one, some of the flesh you want to eat gets left on the fruit's exterior, and you only get what lands in the bucket.
Secondly, some question how clean the device is. Due to its many small, moving parts, these types of appliances can develop mold and deadly bacteria if
not cleaned thoroughly.
