Dining outside usually means exposure to the elements. So, make sure you are prepared for sitting outdoors — proper clothing, sunglasses, and SPF are lifesavers.
Popular establishments that offer outside seating book up quickly. Don't assume your table will be held, and try making reservations during non-rush times.
Be considerate of your surrounding environment. Screaming across the table and being overtly intoxicated are mealtime transgressions you do not want to be guilty of.
Being rude to the staff because you expect them to seat you sooner or somehow change the weather is nonsensical. Be kind to the staff to ensure good service and a good time.
There isn't always a full team working the outdoor seating area, so whether you are waiting to be seated, or are simply awaiting your meal, try to be patient.
