Make Cozy, Convenient Soups Using One Canned Seafood

When it's time to make a cozy, convenient soup, there's an ingredient that's both convenient and also adds briny and earthy umami to your recipe — canned oysters.
With canned oysters, you won't have to worry about having to shuck them or worry if they're fresh. Just open a can and drop them into your creamy soup as it bubbles on the stove.
As for which soup to make, you can opt for a delicious bowl of oyster stew by making a cream soup base and adding canned oysters, including the juice, to the soup.
If you like something chunky and hearty, whip up a batch of oyster chowder. For a more refined flavor and texture, opt for a seafood bisque and add other types of seafood, too.
You can also try non-creamy versions of clam chowder that call for both clams and oysters, such as Manhattan clam chowder and Rhode Island clam chowder.
