Make Chili Quickly With One Easy Ingredient Swap

Most basic chili recipes only call for tomatoes, onion, ground meat, beans, and spices, but you can further shorten the list by swapping the tomatoes, onions, and spices for salsa.
Since premade salsa typically contains plenty of tomatoes, onion, peppers, and spices, using two jars of the sauce
can help you whip up the dish faster without sacrificing flavor.
The swap works for chili made on the stove or in a slow cooker. With multiple varieties of salsa available, there are endless ways to tailor a pot
of chili to your tastes.
A salsa packed with red tomatoes is preferred, as some green ones can be too watery. Beyond serving as a swap for certain ingredients, salsa can also work as an add-on to a chili.
