While Julia Child may have prepared elegant meals, she wasn't above eating fast food or from grocery store food courts. At Costco, she liked to get the quarter-pound hot dog.
In a 2017 interview for Lucky Peach, Bon Appétit’s then editor-in-chief Barbara Fairchild said Child would end her trips to Costco with a stop at the beloved food court.
According to Bob Spitz's biography of Julia Child, "Dearie," the chef "loved Costco hot dogs as much as a fine French meal." She was also fond of their large meat selection.
