With Ina Garten publicly reflecting on her straightforward culinary philosophy, it's no surprise that her favorite invention is the simple and elegant French Apple Tart.
In an interview with TODAY, Garten said the autumnal dessert is the thing she's made the most over her career, and the
dessert is also "easy to make."
To make it, Garten likes to first prepare the dough from scratch. Then, she assembles the tart by using sliced Granny Smith apples, sugar, and butter for the filling.
Finally, she allows the tart to bake sufficiently before brushing the entire pastry with a glaze made from sweet apricot jelly and Calvados, an apple brandy.
