How To Keep Celery Crispy In The Fridge

Instead of storing celery in a store-provided plastic bag, a resealable plastic bag, or a container, it is recommended to seal the celery in aluminum foil for optimal freshness.
This is because plastic bags trap ethylene gas, which can cause celery to spoil quickly. Aluminum foil, in contrast, allows this gas to escape, helping celery stay crisp longer.
Additionally, aluminum foil prevents oxygen from entering, halting oxidization, which can otherwise lead to spoilage and shorten the shelf life of your produce.
The aluminum foil will also provide great protection from light. If stored in aluminum foil in the fridge, celery can last from two to four weeks, making it a great refrigerator staple.
