How To Easily Remove Butter Stains From Fabric

NEWS

BY JESSICA SANTINA

Butter stains are oil-based and not water-soluble, so when you throw butter-stained fabric into the washing machine, the water will bead up
and be unable to touch the stain.
To get butter out of fabrics, first remove as much of the butter as possible. Use a spoon to scrape as much of it as you can off the fabric, then blot it with a paper towel.
Next, pretreat the stain with something that dissolves grease, such as dishwashing liquid or shampoo. Apply it with your fingers or a cotton swab and let it sit.
After you've left the fabrics to pretreat for a few hours, wash them according to their labels' instructions, separately from other clothes. Use
as hot of water as possible.
