How Many Bottles Of Bourbon Does A Typical Barrel Hold?
NEWS

There are more barrels of bourbon in the state of Kentucky than there are people, and each barrel can hold about 160 to 180 bottles of straight bourbon, depending on a few factors.
Straight bourbon must be aged for at least two years, but most barrels age for four to six years. The longer it ages, the fewer bottles you get, as some of the bourbon evaporates.
Another contributing factor is the proof. The higher the proof, the fewer bottles you will get because there will be more straight bourbon versus water added to each bottle.
