How Long Will A Fresh Package Of Bacon Last In Your Fridge?

Cured meats, like bacon, might have a reputation for lasting a lot longer than their fresh counterparts, but that doesn’t mean you can store them for months before consumption.
According to the USDA, uncooked bacon stored in the fridge should be used within a week of opening. Once cooked, it should be consumed within four to five days.
An unopened pack can be stored for about two weeks. However, if it’s sealed and refrigerated at a temperature below 40 degrees, you can mostly go by the use-by date on the package.
The USDA also notes that an opened or sealed pack of bacon can last in the freezer for about four months. Still, check for telltale signs to make sure it hasn’t expired.
Discard bacon immediately if you notice a gray, brown, or greenish hue, or detect an unusual rancid or sour smell. Also, dispose of it if you spot mold or if the bacon feels slimy.
