How Long Does Smoked Salmon Last After Opening It?
NEWS

A closed package of smoked salmon lasts between three and eight weeks in the fridge and up to six months in the freezer. However, once unsealed, it will last only a week or so.
Since smoked salmon is essentially a preserved and/or cooked fish (depending on whether it's cold or hot smoked), it lasts for days longer than a completely fresh piece of salmon.
When refrigerating smoked salmon, ensure you're not storing it next to any uncooked meat to prevent contamination and help the fish retain as much freshness and flavor as possible.
To keep it from drying out in the fridge, tightly wrap its package or put it in a resealable bag. If you see any dried bits, cut them off and store the rest of the fish properly.
