Pasta is a versatile meal. However, once you refrigerate your leftover cooked pasta, aim to consume it within three to four days — provided it’s stored in an airtight container.
It’s crucial to note that different types of pasta age differently. Fresh, store-bought wheat pasta expires within one to three days, whereas others can last three to four days.
When it comes to pasta with sauces, you may get away with one or two additional days. Keep an eye out for visible changes to texture, color, or hints of mold to ensure freshness.
To prevent your penne or linguine from clumping or drying use a loose-fitting lid or cover the bowl with aluminum foil. Whenever feasible, store sauce and noodles separately.
