How Ketchup Can Help Clean Burnt Sugars From A Pan

Once burnt sugar cools and hardens, removing it from your pot or pan without damaging the cookware’s surface can be challenging. Fortunately, using tomato ketchup can help.
Apply ketchup over the burnt areas and let it sit overnight to facilitate the removal of hardened sugar during washing. Use a thick layer of ketchup to keep it from hardening.
Made with acidic tomatoes and vinegar, ketchup boasts a pH of around 3.9. When poured over burnt sugar, the acidity of the condiment will effectively break it down.
The salt content in ketchup also aids in the cleaning process. Additionally, ketchup is food-safe, so you won’t have to worry about it leaving toxic chemicals on your cookware.
