How Fresh Is Nespresso Pod Coffee, Actually?

Nespresso is known as a brand that uses high-quality ingredients, but some question if the grounds are really fresh, especially after sitting around for months.
Nespresso says its pods expire between 8 to 11 months after they are produced. During this time, they stay fresh due to being hermetically sealed, with all oxygen flushed out.
Immediately after roasting, the ground coffee is sealed inside the aluminum capsules to keep it away from light, oxygen, and humidity, all of which can degrade its freshness.
Although the coffee will eventually lose its freshness, it will largely remain as fresh as the day it was roasted. Most still taste good even after their best-buy date is passed.
