Posts on Reddit’s r/hospitalfood show Brazilian hospitals serving fresh fruit, yogurt, rice, meat, and potatoes. However, Rio de Janeiro hospitals often serve processed food.
Hospitals in larger Chinese cities like Bangkok often have high-end menus with traditional Chinese food, but some rural hospitals don't offer food to patients at all.
On r/hospitalfood, one user posted a breakfast of a pancake, pork bun, and soy milk. Another posted meals of rice, cabbage and onion soup, tofu cubes, vegetables, and white fish.
Czech food is known for being hearty, and so is their hospital food, though it can be bland. One Reddit user had boiled potatoes, chicken, and pea soup.
Experiences in French hospitals tend to vary, with some hospitals offering full three-course meals that include soup and roasted meat while others offer simpler meals.
German food is made to be hearty, but not all hospitals offer a hearty meal, like those where lunch and dinner are usually bread with cheese and some type of deli meat.
However, plenty of hospitals offer more traditional meals. One Reddit user posted a traditional German hospital lunch consisting of bratwurst, mashed potatoes, and sauerkraut.
