Here's What Anthony Bourdain Thought About The Iconic Chili In Ohio

Renowned chef Anthony Bourdain was dedicated to eating his way through the world. When visiting Ohio to try their iconic Skyline chili in 2007, he had strong opinions about it.
Skyline’s "Cincinnati Chili" is a mess of ground beef chili over spaghetti, topped with a ton of cheddar cheese. It's unique for having cloves, nutmeg, and cinnamon in the sauce.
Bourdain stated on "No Reservations" that he wanted to try "Ohio's most recognizable, gastronomic innovations" for himself, calling it a "mutant hybrid, a topping gone wild."
However, Bourdain actually seemed to enjoy Ohio's signature dish. He slurped down a heaping helping and exclaimed, "If you don't like this, you're just not drinking enough."
Bite after bite, he really seemed to understand what Ohioans love about Skyline chili — it's a reliable, warm, blend of spices and flavors, even though it's not the fanciest fare.
