To make the process of assembling pigs in a blanket much easier, use full-sized franks rather than cocktail weenies and wrap them from end to end in puff pastry dough.

Once the franks are wrapped, simply cut them into individual portions. This tip comes from an early version of the dish in 1957's "Betty Crocker Cookbook for Boys and Girls."

Each cut-up hot dog will yield a handful of dough-wrapped, appetizer-sized pieces, saving you time and effort (which everyone could use more of when entertaining).
