Here's How To Cook A Perfect Potato In The Microwave

Oven-baked potatoes are easy to make, but the process can be lengthy. Luckily, a microwave offers the same delicious results in only 10 minutes instead of 60.
To make a microwaved baked potato, start by washing and drying your potato as usual and poking it several times with a fork. Then, rub the spud in butter or an oil of your choice.
Microwave the spud on a microwave-safe plate for three minutes on each side — or five minutes per side if you have multiple spuds. Use tongs or a fork for flipping.
If a fork or knife penetrates the microwaved potato all the way through with no resistance, it’s cooked. Otherwise, continue cooking it in one minute intervals until it's ready.
Once the spud is fork tender, let it rest for a few minutes to avoid burning yourself with steam. After taking it out of the microwave, split it open and sprinkle it with toppings.
