The Fourth of July is the perfect time to throw a party, and Guy Fieri's Zing Zang Flank Steak is the perfect centerpiece for a truly dazzling Independence Day party.
Flank steak is large and inexpensive, and utilizing a rich filling turns the steak into a full meal. This dish pairs well with macaroni and cheese, a cob of corn, or pasta salad.
Fieri instructs cooks to trim the silver skin and fat from the cut's outside, then slice the steak through its center. This will leave the edge attached so it can open and close.
Once prepared, you can add your sauteed onions, Calabrian peppers, mozzarella, thyme, tomatoes, and bread crumbs. It’s also best to skewer your steaks to keep the filling inside.
To help the flavors meld together, you can keep the steaks with the filling in the fridge overnight. Grill for five minutes on each side for a juicy and perfectly medium-rare cook.
