Give Tuna Salad A Hint Of Spice With One Powerhouse Ingredient

Whipping up a tuna salad can be more complicated than you might expect, so you want it to be worth the effort. That's where a dab of horseradish can come in handy.
When grated and pureed, horseradish becomes a pasty, pale condiment that can easily blend in with mayonnaise while packing a lot more punch.
You can grate up the root at home or pick up a jar close to homemade, like Woeber's. Horseradish also often comes in a creamier compound like one from Inglehoffer.
If you're new to horseradish, the creamy condiment variety might be the best place to start. A little goes a long way, so be careful not to overdo it.
Use a one-to-one ratio for horseradish cream or start with one part of the grated root. Add each ingredient to a bowl and combine immediately to avoid over-mixing.
