Give Chicken Soup A Flavor Boost With One Powerhouse Ingredient

To easily boost the flavor of your chicken soup, simply add turmeric. Turmeric is a golden root native to Southeast Asia with rich aromatics and anti-inflammatory polyphenols.
Turmeric can be purchased fresh or in a variety of powdered forms. Its rich color and earthy, peppery flavor notes brings an intriguing, umami complexity to any dish.
When making canned soup, just add a dash of ground turmeric while it's heating. When making soup from scratch, add some to your boiling chicken or sauté it alongside the aromatics.
Keep in mind that you only need a small amount of turmeric — roughly a teaspoon for every 6 cups — because it is a strong spice in terms of flavor, aromatics, and color.
