Pimm's No. 1 Liqueur is a British original made of gin with some fruit and spice notes. The most popular way to drink it is the Pimm's Cup, which adds various botanical garnishes.
The Pimm’s cup mixes cucumbers, strawberries, oranges, and mint with a bit of Pimm's and several ounces of British lemonade, a sparkling beverage akin to flavored water.
While ginger ale adds a nontraditional flavor to the Pimm's Cup, it's commonly used in American versions of the drink. Add a squeeze of lemon juice to still get that hint of lemon.
Chowhound found that Boylan and Schweppes are the best ginger ales to use in a Pimm's Cup. Also, try the Reyka Pimm's Cup, which is similar to the original but adds vodka.
