McDonald's menu items have gotten more expensive recently. If you don't want to pay the average $5.99 price tag for a Big Mac, there's a hack for a cheaper version.
Order a "McDouble like a Mac," said Mike Haracz, a former McDonald's chef, on TikTok. This means getting a McDouble with shredded lettuce, no middle bun, and Big Mac sauce.
"McDouble only has one slice of cheese, just like a Big Mac," Haracz said. "It is so much better and cheaper." The only difference is that there are no sesame seeds on a McDouble.
The average price of a McDouble is $3.19 while a Big Mac is nearly $6, so the tip saves over $2. While some locations may balk at the request, the savings makes it worth trying.
