Savory Waffles

To cook some tasty umami waffles with crisp, crunchy exteriors, swap the sugar for savory ingredients like herbs, cheese, sour cream, buttermilk, garlic, and salt.

Pizza

To make a pizza crust, press dough in the iron or do the same with unrolled crescent rolls that have been cut into squares. There are two ways to add the toppings.
Either fold the toppings in the middle and press in the iron, or cook the crust for 3 minutes, add the toppings, and cook again. The cheese will be fried and cooked into the dough.

Panini

To make a panini using your waffle maker, lightly coat the iron plates with a neutral-tasting oil. Then, assemble the ingredients and carefully place them between the plates.
Lastly, grill for 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown. You can use any topping, but if you’re adding mayo, take the heat into consideration and only use a thin layer on the outside.

Falafel

With a boxed mix and a waffle iron, you can make some delicious falafel in no time. Start by whipping the mixture up, and then let it rest while you preheat the iron.
Spoon half a cup of the mix into the middle of the waffle maker, press it down, and cook for 3 to 5 minutes. Cut a slot between the halves for yogurt and crispy veggies, and enjoy.

Hash Browns

Waffle makers are ideal for making hash browns. Thaw frozen hash browns or prepare some of your own as you heat the machine, and add some other ingredients if you want.
For a full-sized waffle maker, add one spoonful of the potato mixture to each quadrant. Cook for 2 minutes, press the lid down to flatten the potatoes, and cook for 5 more minutes.
