Draw Out The Most Flavor Of Canned Beans With One Clever Method

Taking the time to actually cook your canned beans is also a great way to upgrade flavor. In fact, braising may be one of the most clever ways of getting more out of your beans.
Braising is a technique that combines dry and wet cooking — frying or sautéing ingredients, browning the meat, and throwing it all in a pot with liquid and simmer for a few hours.
First, you'll need to do the dry cooking by sautéing aromatics and searing raw meats. Then, you'll add the beans and liquid — either olive oil, water, stock, and wine.
Add spices and simmer on low heat until everything is cooked through. Just don't let the liquid cook completely off and don't boil anything, as simmering beans should take time.
