Crack Open The Ginger Ale For Fall-Apart Beef Tips

Cooking melt-in-your-mouth beef tips can be tough, as the low-quality meat is harder to make tender, but the solution may be right in your fridge: a can of ginger ale.
Ginger ale naturally contributes both carbonic acid and citric acid to your marinade. Acid helps tenderize protein, a fundamental part of the marinating process.
Marinades are meant to infuse your food with flavor, and ginger soda checks that box, too. Try to use a ginger ale or beer fermented with actual ginger and sugar.
A marinade also requires oil. Ginger ale works well with fresh fruity or peppery extra virgin olive oil or a flavored oil like lemon, sesame, or chili pepper.
Give your beef tips an overnight soak for the biggest impact, and cook it with low and slow methods like a slow cooker or Dutch to get that fall-apart texture.
