The espresso martini has risen back into the limelight, and you can make it even better by swapping the cocktail’s usual neutral-flavored vodka for bourbon.
Bourbon is distilled from a "mash bill" composed of grain, yeast, and water. With its sweet notes of caramel and vanilla, bourbon balances out the bitter espresso.
Bourbon works exceedingly well in any coffee-based cocktail mashup including a Bourbon Espresso Old Fashioned, a Mexican Carajillo, or a Mudslide.
