Bobby Flay has said in past interviews that he doesn't order cod when he eats at a restaurant because the fish doesn't have a strong enough flavor to make a lasting memory.

In a 2017 interview with PopSugar, Flay, who seemingly tries to get the most out of his experience, explained: "[Cod] just doesn't taste like anything, so I don't bother."

Although white cod isn't featured in Flay's restaurants, black cod does make an appearance alongside sea scallops and roasted salmon at Shark, one of his Las Vegas establishments.

That said, Flay doesn't skimp on white cod when it comes to his cookbooks and has dozens of cod-based recipes for those who love the mild fish flavors of the classic white fish.
