Are Store-Bought Eggs Fertilized or Unfertilized?

NEWS

Overall, any egg you buy from a grocery store or commercial egg farm is unfertilized, regardless of whether the egg is labeled organic, pasture-raised, or anything else.
Since roosters are usually not even allowed on the same farms as egg-laying hens, it’s actually impossible for their eggs to be fertilized before reaching your kitchen.
For reference, unfertilized yolks feature a small white spot, or blastodisc, while fertilized eggs display a blastoderm resembling a bullseye with concentric white circles.
Even on the off chance that you do receive a fertilized egg, the odds of that egg producing a chick are slim to none due to the complete lack of incubation.
