When in a new city, too many options can make it hard to find the best place to dine. The solution, according to celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern, is to trust the professionals.

As Zimmern told the BBC, his favorite way to find a worthwhile restaurant is to look up "four or five food critics in a given city and see what they're doing, where they're going."

Every city has a community of food reviewers. Be they a critic from a major newspaper or a creator just starting out on TikTok, follow those whose preferences are similar to yours.

Internet searches can help you find what you're looking for. Once you list the food critics you like, look through their reviews for places that get a good rating across the board.
