Hand holding a pineapple
A Few Easy Ways To Cut Pineapple

NEWS

By HELENA NICHOLS

Whether you want to cut your pineapple into rounds, sticks, or chunks, you should always start by laying it sideways on the cutting board and chopping its top and bottom off.
Then, stand it up on one of its two flat ends. Hold it in your non-dominant hand and slice down its side edges with a knife using the dominant one, removing the tough, spiky skin.
For rounds, lay it on its side and cut slices between ¼ and ½ inches wide. Then, punch out the center core of the rounds with an apple core remover or
a small round biscuit cutter.
To get sticks, place the peeled fruit upright and cut longways down the fruit, leaving the tough center core. Once you have four pieces, cut them lengthwise into one-inch sticks.
For chunks, cut longways down your peeled pineapple, leaving the tough center core. When you get about four pieces, cut them widthwise and then lengthwise into desired chunk sizes.
