Flavored Coffee
To make flavored coffee in a French press, use additions like cinnamon sticks, vanilla pods, grated nutmeg, cocoa powder, or crushed cardamom as you brew your java.
The length of time you need to let your coffee steep to extract the flavors will depend on what you use, whether it's ground up, and how strongly you want that flavor to shine.
The tool can also make you cold brew coffee if you leave the grounds in there for 12 to 24 hours. For the coffee-to-water ratio, use recipes meant for cold brewing.
Your French press can pour you a cup of loose-leaf tea without dregs. Use a teaspoon of loose-leaf tea for every cup of hot water and steep as per instructions.
To make French-pressed chai, assemble black tea, ginger, turmeric, cardamom, vanilla, and milk. Then, combine the spices, tea, and milk at the bottom of the press.
Lastly, pour the water over, let it sit for 5 to 7 minutes, plunge, and pour. You can also make other blends with other flavor profiles and assemble your ingredients accordingly.
You can use your French press to strain soup stock and get every last bit of expensive bone or veggie broth you make without having to deal with those pesky bone bits.
In batches, pour all of your broth into your French press and press gently with the plunger to extract all the goodness. Be sure to rinse the sieve if it starts to get blocked up.
