Thai Turkey Basil Stirfry
This recipe is a favorite in my family! Both husband and son crave for it! You’ll have to prep all the ingredients first, because it is pretty quick to cook. Serve with brown rice or rice noodle, and a side of crunchy green salad or broccoli.
- 1 lb of ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 1 clove of garlic, finely minced
- 1 onion, cut in half and chopped in big chunk
- 1 tablespoon of soy sauce or tamari
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 tablespoon of fish sauce
- A handful of purple basil or Genova basil
1In a large pan or a wok, cook the garlic in the hot oil.
2Add the chopped onion. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Stir with a wooden spoon.
3Add the ground turkey. Cook until there is no trace of pink meat, around 5-6 minutes. Stir with the spoon.
4In the same time, mix in a bowl the soy sauce with the sugar, the fish sauce and the lime juice using a fork. Pour the sauce in the pan and stir for about 1 minute.
5Put the basil leaves on top of the turkey, stir and serve immediately. Enjoy!
