Sloe Gin Fizz

This is a classic, refreshing sparkler made with sloe gin, regular gin, and lemon juice, shaken and topped off with club soda.

What to buy: Sloe gin is a red liqueur made from gin infused with sloes (also called blackthorn), a relative of plums.

• 1 ounce sloe gin
• 1 ounce gin
• 3/4 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
• Ice
• Club soda, chilled
• Slice of lemon, for garnishing

1. 1Add the sloe gin, gin, and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until the outside of the canister looks frosty, about 15 seconds. Strain into a 10-ounce highball or collins glass filled with ice.
2. 2Top off with club soda, and garnish with a lemon slice.
