Instructions

  1. 1First layer: Combine 1-1/4 cups flour with 1/3 cup packed brown sugar, cut in 1/2 cup of butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.Press into a ungreased 9×9-in. pan.Bake at 350 degrees F. for 15 minutes.
  2. 2Second layer:Beat eggs slightly and add the rest of the ingredients in order given.Spread over first layer.Return to oven and bake for 25 minutes until brown.
  3. 3I always use icing on these but you do not have to.I make butter cream icing and use the left over cherry juice to make a pretty pink color.
  4. 4Icing: 1 cup of icing sugar,2 tbsp. butter,1/2 teaspoon vanilla and 1 tbsp.of cherry juice or enough to make the icing spreadable.
