Beer-Mushroom Sauce (for pork chops)

Ingredients (6)

  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 16 ounces(2 cups) Blue Moon beer, room temperature
  • 8 boneless pork center loin chops (1 1/2 inch thick)

This is a staple in our house. It’s delicious and very easy to make. It’s also a good excuse (as if you need one) to keep some Blue Moon around. It’s something my Grandpa taught me. I enjoy it and you all will as well.


  1. 1Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  1. 1Lightly flour chops and brown quickly on both sides and them remove pork chops.
  1. 1Add mushrooms and thyme and saute 1 minute.
  2. 2Return chops to skillet, add Blue Moon beer and bring to boil.
  3. 3Cover and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes.
