We lived in Wisconsin for a number of years – having a brat recipe is kind of a requirement to get in. This recipe is easily double, tripled…the bigger the party, the better!
- 3T ketchup
- 3T mustard - any kind
- 1 bottle Blue Moon
- 1 yellow onion, sliced
- 5 Brats - any flavor
- 5 buns and your favorite brat toppings
1Mix ketchup, mustard and beer in pot large enough to hold the brats.
Add the onion slices and brats.
Add enough water to cover the sausage.
2Bring to a boil. Turn heat off. Cover and let sit until your ready to grill – can sit for hours!
3Heat grill to cook sausage. Drain brats – disgard cooking liquid. Brats will be cooked thru – so you’re just grilling to add smoky flavor and grill marks.
4Put brats in bun and eat plain or add your favorite toppings – grilled onions, saurkraut, cheese…Enjoy!
