apricot beer brisket
People are always complaining about the difficulty of making a “tender-melt-in your-mouth” brisket. By using beer and this fool-proof cooking method, even the most inexperienced chef can make a “wow” worthy brisket.
- 1 (3-4 lbs) second cut brisket
- 2 medium sweet onions, thinly sliced
- 1 (12oz) jar apricot jam
- 2 tbsp onion soup mix
- 12 oz bottle Blue Moon beer
1Preheat oven to 300 degrees
2Arrange slices of 1 onion on the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. Place brisket on top of onions. Spread jam over top of brisket. Place second onion slices on top of jam. Sprinkle with onion soup mix. Pour beer around brisket.
3Cover pan tightly with foil. Bake for 2 1/2 hours. Cool brisket for 15 minutes before slicing. Slice brisket AGAINST THE GRAIN and serve with pan sauce.
