2Arrange slices of 1 onion on the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. Place brisket on top of onions. Spread jam over top of brisket. Place second onion slices on top of jam. Sprinkle with onion soup mix. Pour beer around brisket.
3Cover pan tightly with foil. Bake for 2 1/2 hours. Cool brisket for 15 minutes before slicing. Slice brisket AGAINSTTHEGRAIN and serve with pan sauce.
