To All-
First I want to say hello to everyone on this board. I just found this website last night.
I read about Izakaya Sakura last night on ths website and I RAN out my front door to eat there. Hands down, one of the best sushi meals I have ever eaten. The service was unobtrusive and friendly, the atmosphere was calm, and the food....my heavens the FOOD. I had the Monkfish liver, squid, eel with cucumber, and the mixed sushi. (I do not want to butcher the proper Japanese words for these items). A basic choice for a first time visit, but the quality of the fish was absolutely top notch. I finished with a bowl of Curry Udon, which blew me away. I am not well versed in Sake, but the wonderful server made an excellent choice for me. Sushi Ota is my usual haunt, but thanks to all of you I have a new place to dump my checking account.
My rotation. I think the "Dining Experience" is a woefully underrated and dying art in our microwaved fast society. A great meal can be had at a little shack in an urban area, or a white tablecloth room. So here is my list.
Izakaya Sakura (fresh in my mind!)...Sushi Ota...Bronx Pizza...Parallel 33...California Cuisine...A Chau...Pho Ca Dao...Ba Le...Pho Hoa Cali....Tacos El Panson...Etna Pizza...The Mission...Convoy Tofu House...Pamplemousse Grille...Tapenade...J Six...Mister Peabody's....The Omelette Factory...Park House Eatery...DZ Akins...Hob Nob Hill...Vagabond...Al's Cafe....Titanic Mariscos...Canada Steakburger...Western Steakburger...Extraordinary Desserts...Cafe 222...Saffron...The Little Dumpling....Sala Thai....Janet's Cafe...KemoSabe.....
Okay I'm out of breath.
