Hi,

My husband and I will be in Montreal for four days between Christmas and New Years and need dining suggestions: wonderful food for dinner, both high end and medium, great local food, lunch/breakfast ideas. Welcome all delicious food ideas. We are from NYC and have not been in Montreal for 30 years so really looking forward to our French/Canadian adventure.

I will be in Amsterdam for business/pleasure next month and would love suggestions for dinner. Looking for local food, indonesian, and creative chefs. Coming from Paris so not intereested in French influenced food nor Italian. Mid-range price is great - 50-60 euros. Less exensive a bonus and definitely low-key neighborhood places.

Hi,

My husband and I will be travelling between Doolin and Donegal in June and would love some eating suggestions. Also pub recommendations for music would be a bonus.

Hi,

I will be in Bogota for 5 days and staying at the Sofitel - would love recommendations for dinner. Also, will be in Cartagena for three nights. First trip to Columbia would love to eat wonderful local cusine and not dine at restaurants that are more "international" in their approach

Hi,

We a re about to leave for Turkey and will be in Istanbul, Cappacovca, and Kudasi . Would love to hear from chow hound folks about their favorite places to eat. Have done some research as to Istanbul and opinions appear to be varied.

Thanks Husk/McCrady's description - Husk it is. Artistically plated I get lots of in NYC. Definitely will stop at Fishnet Seafood

My husband and I are heading from New York City to Charleston for a wedding and since we have never been, decided to take five days so we also can visit Savannah. We will have time for two dinners in each city and I have made reservations at Old Pink House and Husk (though not sure if we should eat at McCrady's instead). Thinking of The Grey and Figs for the other nights. Would love to hear from people as to their favorites in each city and where we should stop for lunch on the two drives between Savannah and Charleston.

Thanks from two Northeast city folks who love to try regional best when they travel.

Thanks to all - we took 15 to Stiles Switch and the East Coast folks were very happy. Afterwards hung out for hours at the Continental Club, terrific Austin evening. For a totally different experience four of us had a subdued dinner at Olamaie - some amazing flavors.

Thanks to all for your suggestions - Ended up spending most mornings at Royal Blue Grocery for outstanding coffee and Easy Tiger for lunch. Easy Tiger became a favorite spot for lots of folks at the conference.Had time one day for breakfast at the Drikill - delicious huevos rancheros.

My friend and I will be in Federicksburg for two nights and exploring the hill country. Would love home cooking/Texas local food suggestions. We are from New York and DC and can get upscale dining back home.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Any advice on where a large group of folks - at least 15- should go; would one of the BBQ places work - wasn't sure if there would be enough seating; or Mexican?

You are absolutely right - ita is Autust, Bayona, and Peche. Commander's was booked for the weekend so will do a weekday lunch. Definitely will check out your other suggestions.

Thanks

Hi,

Heading from New York to New Orleans for the first time to visit my son and celebrate a big birthday. Will have three dinners and thinking of Autumn, Bayou, and Peche. Are there others I should consider. Thought we would go to Commander's for the jazz brunch. All food suggestions would be appreciated. Also - would love some jazz recommendations

Hi,

I live in New York and will be at a conference in May at the Hilton. Would love suggestions either nearby or a short taxi ride. Open to all types of food but particularly looking for the restaurants that should not be missed and that are local. One night will be going out with a group of friends and looking to spend approximately $60.00 per person. Also, what is the best barbecue where you don't have to wait on line for an hour.

Thanks

Thanks Erica - we love markets and this sounds terrific. Is it just a morning market - as we have a bunch or excursions planned. Will be sure to give an update when we return

Thanks Erica. Appreciate your tips. Yes - the taxi ride to la Colombe was a deciding factor. We live in New York City so are spoiled with great food close by.

Thanks Erica,

We actually were trying to figure where to eat on a Sunday. Staying at the Cape Heritage downtown, but the Roundhouse does not seem like a long taxi ride. I was referring to places like La Colombe, which is a long and pricey taxi ride.
