Hoping that some of the experienced chowhounds might be able to recommend a few places to eat while we are in Napa the first weekend in June. There will be 6 of us, but one member of the group is a vegetarian. I am looking a couple of options for dinner and few good places to check out for lunch while we go wine tasting.

We understand that Napa is expensive, but would like to have a little money left over for all of the wine we are planning on buying.

I would suggest Sirio @ Aria. It has great high end Italian food, and they should be able to accommodate a table with children.

My suggestion for families visiting the Strip is to always try to eat on the early side. These places get really busy during peak hours and not all of the guests are as well behaved as they should be.

Has anyone eaten at Honey Salt yet? I had some friends that went the first week and they said there were some issues. I'm not sure if they are being picky or if I should hold off for a few more weeks until they get the kinks worked out.

If you have $$$ to spend, Border Grill has great food at the higher end of the spectrum.

You should have no trouble at all! I highly recommend Comme Ça at the Cosmopolitan. It is a fun place and the food is amazing! I think it was about $50 a person last year.

I would check out the websites of the places that sound good to you in November - they will start to advertise their Thanksgiving menus at about that time. Here is a link to an article from 2010. It give you a ballpark for what to expect. The higher end buffets are also delicious, but it's still a crowded buffet on a holiday :/ http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2010/...

If you have a ballpark idea of the number in your party, how much you want to spend, and the kind of food you enjoy, this board will light up for you :) Vegas doesn't really slow down for the holiday's, so all of the restaurants will be open. There are even a few places that will give you a high end spin on the traditional Thanksgiving spread. They tend to fill up fast, so it's important to make reservations well in advance.

I assure you that Bartolatta would be accommodating to almost any of your dining arrangements. Even the finest restaurants in Las Vegas have to cater to tourists and conventioneers who don't have the most impeccable manners. If you tell your waiter what you would like, they will make it happen.

Personally, I am a big fan of Sirio over at Aria. Good luck!

If you like breakfast and have a car, I would highly recommend Bread & Butter in Henderson. Amazing pastries and really great breakfast dishes. I have family that require at least 2 meals there each visit :) I have never had that much willpower, but besides the amazing sweets, they also have some healthy options.

It looks like you have already scoped out the Cosmo. There are a lot of great places there!

I'm a fan of the Barrymore which is just off the strip (still walking distance) and Olives at the Bellagio is fun for a relaxing meal in front of the fountains.

Not to be snarky, but do we need to say why we want/need the gadgets? I have no compelling reason beyond the fact that I have never seen a kitchen with enough gadgets - bring on the fun new stuff!

Bread and Butter is AMAZING. I recommend it for breakfast or lunch. The owner/chef is pretty great and definitely puts his heart into anything he makes. You can't go wrong with the pastries in the morning, and the sandwiches and salads at lunch will knock your socks off.

I think the Peppermill is great for that "Old Vegas" vibe on the Strip, but there are plenty of places outa state that do it better. You get a lot of food and the drinks are pretty good, but I would only send people there if they were looking for that old school feel.

If you want to try the places off the strip you should definitely get a rental car - cab rides here border on ridiculous and absurd. If you go that route, look up the DDD spots and start making your rounds. Vegas isn't that hard to get around if you use the GSP on your phone and it is good to see that the city is more than just the casinos :)

There are still a bunch of places on the strip that can get you a great meal. Vegas prices aren't low, but if you don't go crazy, you can get your money's worth at almost every property. I highly recommend The Barrymore for a nice dinner and all of the places at the Cosmo for fun dinners.
