OH MY Kevin, thanks for that heads up. I walk Quivet Creek several times a week and was so angry to hear of the thefts. I see the owners/workers working so hard at the beds. Terrible but they caught the thief! I had no idea about Joe's. WOW..no more..

oh don't forget to walk the boardwalk in Sandwich and if shopping for fish, head to Joe's on the marina. My townie friend loves Brown Jug for wine and other stuff. Colleagues go to Beth's for tea. I used to go to Dunbar Tea Room but have not for years. Went through for a tour recently. It's cute. Have a blast!

The culinary options in Bonaire are quite impressive. The island is a melting pot of cultures represented in our cuisines. One can enjoy Surinamese food, Colombian fare and other South American delights. New to the scene is Lek Lek Thai Take Out. Based out of the lovely Roomer Boutique Hotel, Lek Lek turns out amazing Thai food every Monday evening. Ruby, the brainchild behind this culinary delight takes orders up to a week ahead and often sells out before Monday. It's that good! She has a loyal following and there's good reason; the food is amazing. When can you recall the last time you didn't want your meal to end? Last night was such an occasion. I arrived at 6:15 after a hike in the kunuku. Ruby, her husband and colleague were fast and furious behind the counter creating culinary bliss. Ruby welcomed me and advised me my 7 PM order would be ready in 30 minutes. Normally, I'd wait at the Roomer bar but my dog was waiting for her dinner so I drove two miles home, fed my girl, showered and returned. The aromatic fragrance wafting through the breezeway of the hotel was intoxicating. I picked up my order (17.50 or 20.00 with a well deserved gratuity) and headed home. I gleefully tore into my dinner, a lovely tofu dish so spicy and delicious. Pure ambrosia. There was also a salad with Thai seasoning and greens and a perfectly cooked fried egg. Ruby also offers a little dessert tasting. I have no idea what it was but it was pure yummy. As my dining experience came to an end, I was sad. I wanted more. Thankfully, Ruby's here to stay on Bonaire, for now anyway, serving Thai street food cuisine.

Spread the word, Cape Cod Kid..spread the word...I will go as much as I can..

Sushi in a clean cutie pie little gem in New Bedford? It's as good as it gets. Off street parking, friendly welcoming staff and really great sushi. First off, they have bubble tea! This stuff is addictive..I don't know what's more fun, sipping this cold frothy delight through a mega star and sucking up the tapioca beads or chewing them after? My boyfriend and I shared a green tea. We perused the menu noticing the staff efficiently preparing meals and working with a happy vibe. I digress, back to the menu. The sushi offerings are plentiful. There are many options for the non sushi eater. We chose a dragon rolls, spider roll, two spicy tuna rolls and eel nigari. We ordered to go but would eat at one of the high tops next time. They have 3 two top standard tables along the wall as well. Service/ meal prep took about 20 minutes. We couldn't get home fast enough to eat. It was simply delicious. I don't live in the hood but boyfriend does and was already planning his next visit this week. We love Turks and I love Inaho (Cape Cod) and were very pleased with Hazuki. I'll be back for sure. Wish them well. Price before take out gratuity was 34.00 as I recall.

Thanks to all who helped make recs for my bar crawl Sat. night. We head back Sunday and seek a great lunch/brunch spot. Bloody Mary's are a must (I am picky) and cool hip fun and trendy preferred. No buffet and nothing fancy. Thanks in advance.

I have been to Idgy's. It is good for take out. I did order a cake for a social function. It's a great resource on Cape. Karoo emailed a group email they are closing the P Town location. I love Karoo.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for an impromptu mid day Easter luncheon. We sat at the lovely bar and were pampered by the amazing bartender. We started with spicy Bloody Mary's. Perfection, We shared 1 dozen littlenecks and oysters. We later shared an entree of sea scallops lightly breaded and deep fried, tossed in a sesame Teriyaki sauce. I must say, I am not a huge fan of scallops but these were pure ambrosia. Light, sweet and perfectly cooked. I was in food heaven. We passed on dessert but we saw a tray pass and everything looked sublime.

Our bar crawl in Providence was a hit. We parked at a meter on Westminster and a started at the hip cozy Eddy. Our waitress guided us well through a very eclectic creative drink menu. I chose refreshing and honestly, cannot recall what was in my concoction but it was divine. My boyfriend had the El Coche: El Buho Mezcal, Zucca Rababaro Amaro,Cherry Heering, Vya Sweet Vermouth,Molé Bitters Orange Peel. It was so smokey and unique. We loved this spot.

Our next crawl as to the ornate bar at the Dorrance. What a special setting! My boyfriend had the Kentucky Campfire: Heaven Hill 8 yr Bourbon, Cinnamon Syrup, Lemon, Orange, Jerry Thomas Bitters, Tonic, Laphroaig and I had the Pine Away: Bauza Pisco, Pineapple, Almond Orgeat, Lime, Nutmeg. The freshly grated nutmeg made this drink shine. Our bartender was a student at J and W and shows great promise as a mixologist.

Our last stop was Red Fez, a trendy, dark, lively spot. I had the Cabana Boy with Kraken dark rum, spicy ginger syrup, fresh lime and soda in a tall pint glass. My handsome date chose The Fez Golden Margarita with Cointreau, amazing Habenero syrup, OJ, lime juice and simple syrup on the rocks again, in a pint glass. Our bartender was quite pleasant and helpful. We shared a plate of house made hand cut fries with a lovely chipolte mayo aioli. What a perfect place to end our bar crawl.

A friend on Yelp also recommended Dorrance, Bodega and Eddy so will do a mini crawl..will report back..thanks Chowhounds...

Seeking a chill, romantic, special kind of place, casual though, 6 ish on Saturday night for drinks and snacks or Tapas. We are not interested in a sit down meal and would welcome sitting at a bar or high tops vs tables. Driving back from Central Ma where we are having a huge Pre Easter luncheon. Your tips most welcome.

Found our way to El Colima, a very cool hip little Mexican spot. I thought they had the best authentic Mexican in the world, or in Nashua, anyway. Huge menu for drinks and food. We asked our waitress to guide us and she did, very well. I loved my enchiladas verde and my man loved his carne flautas. The salsa and chips are fresh and house made. Cannot wait to return someday..wish it were closer to home. Oh, the cocktails are THE best. My boyfriend had an amazing Margarita with jalapeno and avocado! WOW....

Having lived and worked and traveled in the Caribbean since 87, I will say the best chance of getting local food is at breakfast when sometimes, the hotels will have saltfish and Ackee. Patties, I doubt it, perhaps the other dishes on occasion but here's my rec; when you arrive, ask the kitchen staff if they can serve you staff meals. I did that once in Jamaica. We also had a private cook at Round Hill and we had local food the entire time. It was heaven. Otherwise I know for sure Negril has some great local spots for lunches. Not a personal fan of AI so wish you'd reconsider and dine around..you miss out so much being stuck in the hotel, IMHO. The only place I do MAP is at The Reefs in Bermuda. We have stayed in Jamaica a bunch of times and loved dining around. I will say, don't drive (I did!)..The Junta cabs are insane. Take taxis wherever you go ... :)
