There is a pretty good ham diplet at 3 Pigs BBQ in Bellevue. Ask for the hot sauce. It is not inexpensive at about ten bucks.

The guys behind the cooking at Campbell Basin Lodge at Crystal Mountain Ski Area say they get their Tim's chips special done in pure peanut oil. Check it out! There is a difference.

You need a tie and a jacket at Canlis; everything else is Levi's, flannel shirt, and Costco tennies.

You might want to consider what their major interests are and combine the two.

If you are serving your apple sauce as a side to pork dishes put a couple of table spoons of horse radish in it, stir, let sit in the fridge for a couple of hours before dinner time.

For a good side take a lunch sized container of apple sauce and peel back the foil top. Place a spoonful of hot horse radish in the sauce and stir. Place the foil back over the apple sauce. Chill for a couple of hours in the fridge. Serve alongside your pork chop.

For certain bring along a couple of head lamps. It is dark here at this time of year! If you have a mobile phone install the free Waze app.

I will be in the area tomorrow and will check it out. Thanks!

Where would be the best location in the Bellevue area to source a big slab of King salmon? I regret to say I won't drive into Seattle anymore to get this at great places like Jack's at the Pike Place Market. It is too difficult to get there with tolls and parking.

The Safeway soup counters occasionally feature chili that I think is very good. It certainly disappears fast.

This is the spot we used to take our brown bag lunches to at Crystal Mountain: http://www.crystalmountainresort.com/...
We had lunch today accompanied by beautiful sunshine and not too much wind. The menu is limited because of location. I chose the fancy burger and was surprised with the overall presentation. It comes with a original mayo sauce for the large lightly fried pomme frites that had special salt on them. The burger was made from their own mix of beef. It was served on a roll made at the Black Diamond Bakery with wonderful Swiss cheese and several slices of very lean bacon. There was lettuce of the Romaine verity and some really small rings of raw onion. The wine list was short, but I enjoyed a glass of the 2009 Hestia Red Blend, Columbia Valley, WA. The place got really crowded after we arrived and the waiting list was long. If you plan to go make reservations.

I tried to research this, but the research system didn't work for me. Please, somebody give me several good ideas where we should take a very interesting friend that arrived from SLC for his daughter's newborn. The daughter is not involved, but Hobatz is. We will pick him up in West Seattle and drop anchor nearby for dinner.

We eat there (Shanty) all the time on our way to the marina. They have great diner fare. The waitress has opinions. Follow her ideas.

Spring Creek Ranch is west of Ellensburg. Drove by it yesterday on I-90. There is a big sign on the north side of the roadway.

We tried Christo's on our visit to Salem. The pizza was great and the wine list excellent.

We will be down in Salem tomorrow provisioning for a river trip. You folks gave great ideas for a dinner spot. Can you tell me where the best bakery is?

OK, Christos it is. What several options do you recommend for an order choice?

Good ideas. Should I google these or can you give me links to their addresses?

We are headed for a river trip on the Rogue River and provision at the Salem Costco. We will probably stay in Salem. Where should you suggest we go out to eat? Where should we stay overnight?

My favorite: CRESPELLE RICOTTA E SPINACI
Green pasta crepes stuffed with spinach,
ricotta and mozzarella cheese, oven baked
in a pink sauce.

I have read negative reviews of this favorite spot and can't for the life of me figure out why? How does one respond to these?
