I haven't been to Adamson, my go to is Smoke Signals, run by a Chinese Pit Master, Nick Chen-Yin. BBQ tends to be on the expensive side as much time and love goes into it, the pitmaster has to get there really early (or late depending how you look at it). I have never been to Texas but I have enjoyed Nick's smoked brisket on many occasions. They have a $100 platter which 4 people can share and I find is the best "bang for your buck" to sample what they have to offer.

I have been to Cha Me Cha, Ten Ren, Papa Chang's, are there any other great Taiwanese spots in Markham, Richmond Hill or Scarborough that I'm missing out on? Who has the best popcorn chicken, who has the best tea? who has the best shaved Ice? Charles???

Thanks Charles, yes I have been to the original location, just seeing if there was any other places in Richmond Hill, Markham or Scarborough with good Alaskan King Crab dishes.

Looking for something delicious for a birthday, I know spots just seeing if there's something I overlooked, Charles? Anybody? thanks

Nah there's more underneath and behind that crisp skin. They have a small and large size around $8 and $13, this is large, i could have used another portion of that rice though it was flavorville, trust Charles you gotta try it man, soup was on point too.

I haven't posted here in years but I had to cause I just went here and IT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD. Flavor overload, out of bounds, all that, The rice is next level, chicken moist AF, and the crisp skin? don't even get me started, please just go. k I'm out.

I prefer JaBistro's Kyukyoku set served piece-by-piece by Koji. Yasu was good, the fish was very fresh but the rice was overcooked, too much wasabi was used and the soy brushed on was too salty. My favourite piece was the Bonito. Terrific piece of fish. Also they served Shirako (cod sperm) I found it very mild but probably wouldn't eat it again.

I went twice in my early-mid 20's, to be honest when I was a big foodie It was a big deal and felt baller status, meeting him after you finished the meal made you feel special. But thinking back to it I wouldn't do it again, and not now. It seems so decadent, 2 fois gras courses? No thanks. Wine pairings? Forget it, I threw up after my second time going because I was so drunk. Gross. I never want to eat food that rich ever again in my life. I would rather go to Richmond hill and spend $40 and eat legendary Chinese.

I mean, American Sicilian style, square pie, thick crust, cheese on the bottom, sauce on the top, garlic, simple. Any spots doing this?

The bagel the bagel!! The experience can't be matched of course but on the real NY bagels are dry pucks

Anyone hit the new Jewish Deli on Dupont behind Fat Pasha? Same owners as Rose & Sons opened up a specialty shop with smoked and cured fish, caviar, different cream cheeses, preserves, baked goods etc etc. It's pretty much an exact copy of Russ & Daughters in New York, from the food, layout and logo. I'm actually fine with this because the food is legit. I don't really care about copy cat restaurants as long as they're good. They have the the classic Russ & Daughters "Super Heebster" bagel sandwich (under a different name of course) House made whitefish salad, horseradish cream cheese and wasabi tobiko on a Kiva's bagel. I'm probably gonna get some hate on this but I actually preferred this sandwich to Russ & Daughters but that's just because I don't like NYC bagels. Still you can't beat over 100 years of tradition. If anyone has cravings for this type of food you can get your fix without travelling which is a good thing. The prices also compare to Russ & Daughters so it's a bit hard on the wallet but good for a treat every now and then.

If anyone's craving legit Texas style brisket, Smoke Signals has a weekly spot (on Sundays) at the Derby Pub on Dundas West. I'm glad I can get a regular fix. If anyone hasn't had the brisket it's amazing. I've had incredible Jerk chicken too. Not sure if the menu changes weekly but I saw on instagram they had brisket, pulled pork and Alabama chicken last week as well as sides.

I read on blogTo that apparently restaurants do this during TIFF to boost sales, like if you show up, you will be hungry and you'll just eat at the restaurant that's hoaxing? sounds insane but I don't want to risk going all the way there if it's not real. It's such a bizarre concept.

Hey just a heads up I heard this was a hoax, not sure why but I can't find any real evidence this is happening.

I always go to Cafe Polonez, it's good and home made, their goulash pork is always dry though, they need to stop using loin and start using pork shoulder

Believe it or not, dollarama has my vote. Pure 100% coconut water, no sugar, pulp, and not from concentrate. Also it comes in tall cans for a dollar!! You get 3 times the amount than any of those vita coco, one or any expensive tetra pack rip off brand which they sell for $3 at grocery stores. Coconut water is so expensive so I only buy from dollarama. It's usually sold out at every location, when I see stock I fill the trunk, always on hand.

Yup, only choice, Ja Bistro, best sushi downtown, Koji Tashiro behind the boards. Kyukyoku set and aburi all the way. Sit at the sushi bar and have it served piece by piece. Mind is blown every time. Was there last week and had Uni from Hokkaido, Blue Fin from Spain, red snapper, squid, ocean trout, sea bream and more i can't remember.
