My sister-in-law has lost a member of her family. I would like to have a meal of condolence delivered ready to eat when they return from the cemetery. Can anyone recommend a good caterer in Louisville?

I will be participating in a Hill Day with a group of amputees who are both using prosthetics and some in wheel chairs. We will be on both House and Senate sides. Any thoughts about an accessible restaurant where we can get a quick lunch and get our wheelchairs into the bathroom?

If you want to have your fish ground for you, you might be better off at Whole Foods or an Asian Market. Both Moti's and Shalom's pretty much have a few fresh fish options, and what you see is what you get. Shalom's has many more people willing to assist you, and the only place to go if you are disabled. Moti's does not have shopping scooters. Shalom's prepared gefilte fish is great, and they have some interesting options (like salmon) that you can buy frozen and finish off yourself.

I think so. Thanks! The picture of the burger on their web site brings wonderful memories!

We haven't been in Vancouver in some years, but will be back again late July. We remember a place in walking distance from the convention center hotels. I think it was Alsatian. Relatively small place, but yummy food. More like a gastro pub. For the life of me, I can't remember the name. Also a wonderful seafood restaurant that listed the names of the fishing boats and their captains, and the time they came in to port. Food was great, but can't remember the name. We will be staying at the Hyatt near the convention center and would like a great place to take a gang, as well as recommendations for good dim sum and Chinese food, Canadian Cuisine any thing else wonderful. Medium price ranges. Good farmers markets I can get to on my own would be great also. Everything must be accessible. I get around in a large power chair. Many thanks!

Have not been in your lovely city for a while, but have a chance to visit next month. We'll be staying at the Marriott Renaissance and will have a car. Looking for good Northwest Seafood, Dim Sum and good Chinese food and anything else particularly wonderful. We do need good wheelchair access, I get around in a power chair.

We will be in the area Memorial Day Weekend for a memorial service. Looking for a few places for good food (deli, Ramen, Asian, diner) where our family group of various sizes (3-10) can eat and commiserate. Easy handicap accessibility is a must.

I have been growing herbs on my porch for a few years now. I replace the herbs each spring, with the exception of the chives. They seem to grow all year. This year the chives are flowering. Should I let them be, weed them out, eat them or all of the above? Thoughts please.

Butter definitely. Then go crazy with different types of cheese. If you would like a different take on grilled cheese, try this for open grilled sandwich. Get a nice dense bread like corn rye or pumpernickel or any of the German breads. Give it a smear with a nice brown hearty mustard. Add cheese, I like cheddar with fontina, but take your pick. But it in a hot oven set to broil, though keep your sandwich a good distance away from the element. Cook until the top of the cheese is brown and puffy. Nice with a caesar salad for a light dinner.

Friends are coming in for a hill day and a quick visit with us. They will be staying in Arlington, but we live in Gaithersburg. Where might we go for a nice relaxing Wednesday afternoon brunch?

Taking my honey to Anthem for a birthday concert, but I don't know where to take him. We eat just about anything (except sushi). And, we need a place that is wheelchair friendly. Your assistance please.

So our book club likes to match our lunch locale to a tie in to the book we have read and will discuss this month. We all love Iron Age but enjoy some slim hope of getting into our bathing suits by month's end. Thoughts?

Did you poke a few holes in the sweet potatovallowing the steam to escape? One should also turn the potato over every few minutes.

You have too much stuff to do the day of your feasts. Why don't you make sides and appetizers pot luck? If you want to do your own try some noodle salads you can make ahead. Ditch the cornbread, it really is not necessary and does not fit with the rest of your menu.

Do feel free to hand off the barbecuing to a trusted friend or two. Cook sausages first so burgers can be cooked to order.

My friend loves hot and spicy dishes. She loves kimchee and wants to make her own but all the recipes she can find seem to include shellfish or tons of sugar. does anyone have a good recipe to share?

A small group of us will be going to see the matinee performance of Gigi at the Kennedy Center Sunday. Curtain is at 1:30. One of us is disabled and need some time to get from here to there. Any suggestions for a brunch near the theater. We thought about dining in the KC restaurant, but understand that it is quite expensive. We don't mind paying for a good meal but don't need to get into the silly zone for a just okay buffet. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. Would appreciate it. We have eaten at Side Door before. It was not bad, but I am not sure it merited it's prices. We are going to The Bacon Factory tonight, but will be here a few more nights, so suggest away.

Thank you so much. I will report back and let you know how everything worked out.

Haven't been to Ottawa in a few years. Attending a meeting with hubby so will be alone most of the day. I will need casual restaurants for breakfast and lunch that are handicap accessible - that is I can enter with my motorized scooter. I can walk to a table, but do need the scooter to get from here to there. Need some special places for dinner. Is Play still a great place to go? Others of that caliber. We will eat anything that won't bite us first, but don't need to spend a fortune. Love Canadian cuisine, Chinese, Italian, Continental, etc. Thanks in advance for your help.

Here for a convention and thought we would try the North End tomorrow night. I have a hankering for Osso Bucco, or some nice roasted meats. Any suggestions? Will we need reservations for 2?

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I certainly will not lack for choices.

Friends,

Attending a conference with hubby next week. Conference is at the new convention center, but we are staying at the Doubletree downtown. I will be having most breakfasts and lunches on my own but will be having dinners with hubby, and possibly a crowd of conference chums. So, where to enjoy the local cuisine on my own? Definitely want chowder, lobster rolls, and anything else special to Boston. Please note I get around on a motorized scooter, so need places that are accessible. We love most food - Chinese, Italian, etc. so feel free to recommend your favorites. Breakfast and lunch should be reasonable priced, dinner can be upscale, but we enjoy a yummy local greasy spoon as well. Many thanks in advance.

There is a sausage place in Rockville, I think it is called the Kielbasa Factory. The have a large assortment of sausages. You can try everything before you buy. Prices are reasonable. They are a little hard to find as they are in the top level of stores that don't face Rockville Pike, but they are worth exploring.

Thank you friends. It turns out that a medical problem has kept me at home, so hubby is on his way there by himself on the train. We have printed off your recommendations and he will pass them out to friends attending the same conference. Hopefully I will be well enough to attend another meeting planned for October in Ottawa. We will probably stop in Montreal on our way to the capitol.

Finally, we are stopping for a few days to really do the Corning Museum properly. Any place special we should eat for lunch or dinner?

Hubby is attending a meeting at a nearby university. There are no hotels really close by, so the organizers recommended the Terrasse Royale. We are unfamiliar with this part of the city. I will be on my own most days. What is close by? Where can I have a nice lunch by myself? Where should we have dinner? We have sampled many of the fine restaurants of Montreal and love Canadienne cuisine and usually stop in both Schwartz's and Pied de Cochon when we visit. You should also know that I use a mobility scooter to get around, so if we will be walking to lunch or dinner from the hotel we will need a place that is accessible. Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

There used to be a Georgetown Bagel on M Street in Georgetown under a hardware store sign. In Montgomery County I really the Itzey's bagels.
