I have eaten at Joel Robuchon, as well as L’atelier, Picasso, Restaurant Guy Savoy, and Le a Cirque. And in my honest opinion, JR at The Mansion is a small step above the others. Guy Savoy had similar service, though not as friendly, but couldn’t win the food battle for taste or presentation. At JR, The Duck, mash potatoes, and his simple white sauce spaghetti were so simply done, but so incredibly delicious. This doesn’t even mention the real exotic items on that tasting menu. I’ve read the knocks here on Picasso as well: But I’ve had 2 fabulous (though simpler) meals there. And overlooking the fountain show was an added touch. I’d rate them all in this order.... 1) JR, 2) L’atelier 3) Guy S 4)Picasso 5) Le Cirque... note: best bang for the buck is L’ atelier or Picasso. Their simpler menus still offer some incredible taste for the $$$. L’atelier is also more laid back(business casual), which takes the stuffiness out. But if I could do only 1 meal at any cost: Joel Robuchon At The Mansion it would be.....
